Precarious Form – Chiang Yi-Chin Solo Exhibit

Exhibition Dates: May 8 (Wed) – June 4 (Tue)
Venue: Education Hall – Art & Creativity Space

Chiang Yi-Chin, a graduate of the Taipei National University of the Arts, currently lives, works, and creates in New Taipei City.

Her artistic practice employs mixed media to explore fragments of everyday life and personal emotions. She incorporates found objects, replicated body parts, hand-molded ceramic pieces, and wooden structures to form the final composition of her works. Beyond investigating the essence of these creations, she also delves into the relationship between the artwork and the artist throughout the creative process.

Chiang frequently utilizes unstable structures and precarious states to heighten both the physical presence of objects and their visual tension, drawing connections to her own lived experiences. This exhibition focuses on the imitation and re-creation of found objects, reinterpreting their visual familiarity and usage in daily life. Through this process of conceptualization, reproduction, and transformation, she reconstructs the perception and desire for objects.

By arranging her sculptures in ways that suggest subtle movements and narratives, Chiang deepens the emotional resonance of objects and expands their existential significance.
