Exhibition Introduction         Tania Tsong de O’Pazo was born in Taipei in 1983 and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the

                                             Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Her artistic practice often draws upon everyday life, employing

                                             ordinary objects such as plastic bags, discarded clothing, and brooms as her materials. Through the

                                             delicate and repetitive handwork of embroidery, sewing, and weaving, she explores the memories embedded

                                             within material objects, the culture of consumption, and the ways in which personal experience extends

                                             beyond the individual to connect with society.

                                             “I Miss You as Much as I Miss Myself “ is a new work developed by Tania specifically for this exhibition.

                                             During the preparatory period, the artist invited faculty members, staff, and students of the university, as

                                             well as residents of Hsinchu City, to donate their unwanted clothing, ultimately collecting nearly two thousand

                                             garments. Once left unused in different households, these garments carry traces of wear, washing, storage,

                                             and the passage of time. Having departed from their original owners, they are now brought together once

                                             again within the exhibition space. With a sensitive and precise command of her materials, Tania dismantles,

                                             cuts, and stitches the garments, stripping them of their original styles, functions, and body dimensions. In

                                             doing so, she transforms the complex language of clothing into a minimal yet soft visual vocabulary, ultimately

                                             creating “clouds of memory” that appear to float throughout the space.

                                             Tania transforms the intangible “cloud” of the digital world into a physical landscape composed of discarded

                                             clothing—one that can be seen, entered, and traversed. As viewers move among the works, they seem to enter

                                             a field of memory formed from fragments of many lives. Murmured recollections and playful illusions

                                             occasionally surface within it, giving rise to new forms of expression and a distinctive collective memory. The

                                             work also opens up possibilities for interaction, while offering a compelling artistic reflection on sustainability

                                             and the renewed life of materials.
