ImgDesc

Traditionally correspondence stands as a category of writing on its own, a channel most telling of the author's feelings and a literary social connection. The establishment of the Communist regime in China in 1949 and the relocation of the nationalist government to Taiwan were events of tremendous historical importance in the 20th century both nationally and globally.

This exhibition is set against the major battles during the civil war period in China. Warfare including the Battle of Western Liaoning Province, Battle of Pingjin, Battle of Hsupeng, and battles in Hainan Island, Zhoushan Islands, and many other places are nexuses in Chinese history.
