About the Museum

Hung Lang Museum is an international contemporary art museum located next to the large lawn on the south side of the NTHU campus. It was donated by Mr. Hung Liang Xie, an alumnus from the Class of '73 and chairman of Sinyun Enterprise. Building on nearly 37 years of heritage from the NTHU Art Center, the museum aims to expand the future artistic vision of NTHU and enhance the university's visibility in the international art scene.

Platform for Enlightenment

As a platform for artistic enlightenment, the museum focuses on visual arts, organizing diverse thematic exhibitions and art education promotion activities. It provides students with opportunities to understand and engage with contemporary art while establishing a primary site for curatorial and teaching activities. The aim is to enhance artistic literacy, cultivate creativity and aesthetic thinking, and enrich the campus with an artistic and cultural atmosphere, thereby implementing aesthetic education.

International Exchange

Inviting the world to gather in Hsinchu, the museum acts as a driver for the city’s cultural and artistic ecosystem. By staying attuned to global trends in arts and culture, it connects international artists, cultural institutions, and curators, forming an extensive network of collaboration. Through well-planned activities, the museum integrates university resources with community participation, bringing artistic energy into Hsinchu.

Ongoing Dialogue

With a foundation in the collection of modern art, the museum curates exhibitions that feature a dynamic and experimental contemporary art perspective, creating a space for diverse dialogues. It aims to build an environment of shared learning, integration, and co-creation, fulfilling the university’s social responsibilities.
